Proton open Medan Platinum Showroom


Medan is a key market for Proton and they are strengthening their position there by opening a new Platinum Showroom to better service the Indonesian market which has given the Malaysian carmaker a very warm welcome, especially for the Exora MPV.

Proton models have been enjoying a growing popularity in Indonesia. The Exora Star, which is the base line variant for Proton Exora, recently won an award from MobilMotor magazine’s ICOTY (Indonesian Car of the Year) under the Best Small MPV 2011 category. The Exora Star was also awarded the ‘Best Budget MPV 2011’ earlier this year at Indonesia Automotive Award.

“The new Medan Platinum showroom is a very significant outlet for the North Sumatera district. It certainly has high potential as Medan has the fourth largest population in Indonesia, and is the next biggest market after Jakarta and Surabaya. We are optimistic that this new Platinum showroom will deliver the best services to our customers and will contribute significantly to the overall sales in Indonesia,” added Dato’ Sri Haji Syed Zainal.

Located at JI. T. Amir Hamzah No. 41-C/43 – Medan 20117, the Platinum showroom occupies 1,200 square metres and houses five service bays and is equipped to offer Proton car owners the complete range of services from routine maintenance, overhauling and general repairs to tyre-servicing and repairing of the air-conditioning system.

PROTON STRENGTHEN PRESENCE IN INDONESIA WITH THE NEW MEDAN PLATINUM SHOWROOM

MEDAN, 25 NOVEMBER 2011 - Proton Edar Indonesia launched its first Platinum showroom in Medan, Indonesia to further strengthen its presence in one of its growing market in the region, in a ceremony held at the showroom on Sunday, 20 November 2011.

The all-new 3S (Sales, Service and Spare Parts) showroom was officially launched by PROTON Holdings Berhad Group Managing Director Dato’ Sri Haji Syed Zainal Abidin Syed Mohamed Tahir. Also present was Proton Edar Indonesia President and Director, Gunther Scherz and Willy Charly Chaeruddin, the owner of PT Central Nusantara Niaga, the dealer company which owns the Platinum showroom.

Located at JI. T. Amir Hamzah No. 41-C/43 – Medan 20117, the Platinum showroom occupies 1,200 square metres and houses five service bays and is equipped to offer Proton car owners the complete range of services from routine maintenance, overhauling and general repairs to tyre-servicing and repairing of the air-conditioning system. The Platinum showroom will also operate a 24-hour emergency response team to assist customers, the first of its kind for PROTON services in Indonesia.

The sales showroom meanwhile, occupies 200 square meters and is able to display up to seven vehicles. For the convenience of customers, there is also a waiting lounge with internet and wi-fi access and television.

“Indonesia is an important market for PROTON and we will be focusing on building and strengthening our presence here. This will include expanding our dealership network and enhancing the quality of our products and services. We are also looking into creating partnerships with domestic automotives parts manufacturers, thereby allowing us to be more competitive here,” said Dato’ Sri Haji Syed Zainal Abidin.
