REVEALED: Production version of VW Up bares all before Frankfurt

Production car retains most of the concept's look and feel

The production version of VW Up, Wolfburg's interpretation of the K-car is  looking very good with clean lines, nice proportions and the usual neat detailing that the VAG group is well known for
This is the concept version and in my opinion the production car is more pleasing to look at.

With oil prices dipping slightly to under USD100 per barrel, interest in small cars may wane but with the level of uncertainty in the Middle East and the US and European economy teetering on a depression, don't bet on cheap oil just yet.
The Up's modern, sophisticated good looks will appeal to buyers who want a small, easy to run car for the city but still want it to be nice and comfortable and safe

From the large glass area, it is pretty safe to assume that the Up has an airy cabin...
These pictures certainly attest to that, the body coloured interior panels help to further lift the cabin from the grey doom that is the plastic dominating the passenger compartment

Who knows, with the current aggressive stance of VW in Malaysia, we may yet see the Up making it to the Pekan assembly plant, it may also be made in Indonesia where VW is making substantial investments in an assembly/manufacturing facility.
