TTW joins Goodyear Malaysia Drift Team

Veteran drift driver on the 2011 team roster

Top drift competitor Tan Tat Wei or TTW as he is better known, is now officially with the Goodyear Malaysia 2011 Drift Team.
He has made quite a name for himself in the regional drift scene, scoring an impressive 73.7 at the Singapore 2011 Formula Drift and winning the competition.
“It is truly an honor and pleasure to be affiliated with Team Goodyear. The association is one that has already begun to create a great deal of opportunity for me and has open many doors since I first joined them eight months ago.

“My car is now fitted with Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric and since using them, I definitely see an improvement in my performance as demonstrated during FD Singapore 2011 where I came in first,” says Tan.
In addition to FD Singapore 2011, Tan has participated in smaller local competitions such as KBS Malaya Drift Battle 2011 where he qualified in first place and bagged the Champion title. He also took part in the Speed City KL Drift Round 1 where he finished in third place and in the Speed City FX Open where he landed in the best eight.
Tan and his trusty rotary-engine powered Toyota AE86 is the fifth member to Team Goodyear. Other drifters include Ariff Johanis Ahmad, Azrina Jane Abdullah (Malaysia’s only professional female drifter), Hanizam Hamzah and Michael Gan.
“We welcome Tan to Team Goodyear and congratulate him for his outstanding performance at FD Singapore 2011, his first major event with Team Goodyear,” said Zakariah Ahmad, Managing Director, Goodyear Malaysia Berhad.
“Team Goodyear reflects the brand’s efforts of harvesting talent and driving performance within a very high impact motorsport. High performance cars have become faster and more powerful and so, drivers demand tires that provide cornering ability, traction and safe braking in the wet. What better way to demonstrate the performance of our tires than through Malaysia’s top drifters,” added Zakariah.
As part of Team Goodyear, members receive tire sponsorships for a predetermined number of drift competitions, partial upgrading of vehicle and maintenance and is required to conduct demonstrations at Goodyear events.
