Peugeot prepares two concepts for 208, XY and GTi

The 208 is being given a head start by Peugeot with two interesting concept, the more predictable 208GTi hot hatch and the luxury XY concept.

The Peugeot 208 XY comes with special Pulsion paintwork which is actually 16-coats of paint that changes colour depending on the distance and angle of the viewer.

It also gets subtle wheel arch extensions and 18-inch wheels and special chrome detailing around the face, side windows and panoramic glass roof.

The interior gets high quality leather with crimson stitching on the seats, dashboard, steering wheel, gear lever and edge trimming of the panoramic glass roof.

We have the rest of the story and a gallery of high def pictures of these to hotties

The XY's seats are upholstered in pearl grey leather . It also gets special ambient lighting and special floor mats.

The engine is stock standard 1.6-liter e-HDi turbo diesel with 115bhp paired to a six-speed manual gearbox.

Meanwhile the GTi is clearly an homage to the original 1.9-litre 205 GTi, the icon of everything that is right and good with hot hatches.

The 208GTi will likely make it into production in one form or another and in this concept form, designed for the Geneva Autosalon and it is based on a standard three-door version that has been embellished with wheelarc extensions, sportier wheels, aero package and mandatory rear diffuser and chrome tail pipes.

Wire mesh for the air intake and the lower bar has been given space for the colours of the owner's country of origin, so you can have , tricolor, union jack or jalur gemilang...

The cabin gets flat bottomed steering, Nappa leather upholstery on the sports seat wings and tartan motif fabric as inserts. It also gets concept car standard items such as Alcantara covered dashboard and aluminium pedals.

The engine is the same 1.6-litre turbocharged four pot that is under the RCZ's bonnet and cranks 200 horses and can twist the front wheels with 254 Nm of torque through six ratios.

Other changes include 36mm wider tracks at the front and at the rear, a re-tuned suspension and a new braking system with 302mm discs up front and 249mm at the back that are set off by red brake calipers.
