AMG prepping four-door Black C63, to challenge Ferrari FF?

Mercedes-Benz is still running the horsepower race with huge engines shoehorned into small cars.

This time they found a 6.3-litre engine that could be forced into the engine bay of the four-door C-Class and turn it into a Ferrari FF challenger as the fastest family transporter. This one actually has a boot but no all-wheel drive.

The four-door version is a further development of the coupe variant and is expected to match the two door for performance.

Like its two-door sibling, the C63 AMG sedan Black Series edition will get an upgraded version of the base car’s naturally aspirated 6.2-liter V8 engine delivering at least the same 517-horses and 620 Nm (457 lb-ft).

Expect a 0-100km/h (62mph) sprint time in the low 4's while top speed is likely to be electronically governed at around 300km/h (187mph).

The V8's output will be channeled to the rear wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch AMG Speedshift transmission.

AMG engineers will also make changes to the sedan's suspension and brake systems while a electronically limited-slip differential will come as standard.

Look for the ultimate C63 AMG sedan to make its debut within the next year.
